Aims

The Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance is aimed at those who work directly with clients, providing advice, disseminating information and giving some guidance. They will be working within clear guidelines dealing with information that often needs to be adapted and interpreted for the client.

 Guided learning hours

We recommend that 139-144 guided learning hours provide a suitable course length for an ‘average’ learner at this level. Guided learning hours include direct contact hours, as well as other time when learners are completing work that has been agreed with teachers or training providers. 

To achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance, learners must achieve a minimum of 21 credits, 15 of which must be at Level 3 or above. Candidates must achieve 12 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 9 credits from the optional units.

The Diploma in Advice and Guidance is an industry-recognised qualification, aimed at anyone whose job role will involve providing specialist advice and guidance to clients.

Engagement Officer/IAG Advisor

Adult Guidance Worker

To achieve the level 4 Diploma, learners will complete a minimum of 37 credits - made up from 5 mandatory and optional units.
